Mark Goodwin is currently Leicestershire Landscape Poet in Residence. His residency is part of the “Write Here” regional programme that is being delivered by Writing East Midlands. The residency is also supported by Loughborough University and Leicestershire Libraries; Mark is based in the English and Drama department at the University. The aim of the residency is to write about a range of landscapes across Leicestershire, and to encourage people to ‘read’ and ‘write’ the landscape in new ways. Over the course of the next few months, Mark and a group of writers will be participating in ‘Scapeshops’ or Walkshops’ (you see what we did there?) and producing writing. They will be producing stand-along pieces, but also collaging work from the whole group to produce new poetic landscapes of Leicestershire.
We’ll be posting, sharing and commenting on work here – feel free to read and join in the conversation.
As well as these activities, Mark will be leading a couple of public workshops at Loughborough Library, Granby Street, Loughborough. Stay tuned for details.

What wonderous words you spell! I am fortunate to have found you on SoundCloud and now here. I will be back to read more.
